45歳になった男は休暇を取りニューヨークを訪れた。俺はいまどこを走っているのだろう――ひたすら走りつづけてきた人生に思いを馳せる「複数の足」、甘いカフェモカを飲んで女子高生のころの記憶がよみがえった。
片思いしていた英語教師を町で見かけて後をつけてある事実を知る「甘い憎悪」、小学生の照は塾の帰り、3 本見送って21時45分のバスに乗る。22 時2分、幼なじみの楓が乗ってきて――「少年短信」。「うとそうそう」とは、月日の経つのが速いこと。解説・大林宣彦。

Fifteen short stories
At the age of 45, a man takes a holiday and visits New York. Where am I running now? He recalls “multiple steps” thinking back about his life which he single-mindedly kept on living. Drinking a sweet café mocha brought back memories of a high school girl. Sweet Hatred, in which a protagonist discovers a fact after following an English teacher he had a crush on in a town. A primary school student Teru, on his way from the cram school sees off three buses, and takes the 21:45 bus; at 22:02, his childhood friend Kaede gets on ― Short News from a boy . The term ‘UTO SOUSOU’ means ‘Time flies’. Commentary by OBAYASHI Nobuhiko.
